The 11th Judicial Circuit celebrated the grand opening of its new civil courthouse, the Osvaldo N. Soto Miami-Dade Justice Center. The event was marked by a grand opening reception hosted by the Miami-Dade Bar in conjunction with a large coalition of local voluntary bar associations. This significant occasion also featured the attendance of Florida Bar President Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes.
The hosting coalition was extensive, led by the Miami-Dade Bar and the Cuban American Bar, and included ten other voluntary bar associations. These participating groups represented diverse legal communities, such as the Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the Coral Gables Bar Association, the Doral Bar Association, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers – Miami Chapter, the Miami Beach Bar Association, the Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association, the Miami Lakes Bar Association, the Nicaraguan American Lawyers Association, and the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr., Bar Association. Bret Berlin, the Miami-Dade Bar Executive Director, expressed honor in hosting the event with such a wide-ranging group.
